Sturzgeburt einer Brücke or Precipitate Birth of a Bridge
began its journey not as a silkscreen print, but as an oil painting—a 'fake' print on canvas which I found housed within a frame. I embraced this pre-existing work, transforming its conventional boundaries with my screen painting. Utilizing seven colors, I layered and pushed the medium beyond its traditional limits, allowing the act of painting to dominate and morph the original image into something entirely new.
The abruptness in the artwork's title mirrors the swift and profound transition of the piece from its original state to its current form. The painting's evolution is a literal interpretation of building bridges—not just within the art's theme, but between the old and the new, the found and the created. It is a direct challenge to the viewer's perception of creation, authenticity, and transformation.
In repurposing the canvas and frame, I aimed to showcase the rebirth of a piece, highlighting the raw potential that lies within reimagining and redefining what already exists. This work stands as evidence of an artistic process that values adaptation and reinvention, a testament to the ever-evolving narrative of art itself.
