3D SCULPTURE
In the vein of thought that challenges the pedestrian boundaries of our quotidien existence, “Banality of the Good” emerges as a manifesto of reclamation. Over a span of thirty rotations of our terrestrial sphere, this project embarks on a Sisyphean task of collecting the detritus of daily life - items that oscillate between the poles of utilitarian necessity and whimsical superfluity. Each object, subjected to the scrutiny of 3D scanning, is not merely captured but recontextualized, transforming its essence from the mundane to the digitally sublime.
This endeavor is less about the objects themselves and more about the philosophical implications of their transformation. It is an homage to the overlooked, a cerebral undertaking that posits the everyday as a canvas for intellectual and aesthetic exploration. Through the creation of a composite sculpture, “Banality of the Good” constructs a tangible dialectic that juxtaposes the banal against the backdrop of the extraordinary.
Crafted with the meticulous care of a lepidopterist pinning butterflies, this project is a testament to the notion that within the banal, there lies a reservoir of untapped potential - a potential for beauty, for reflection, and perhaps, for understanding the complex narrative of human existence.
